In more ways than one, 2022 has been the year to beat for Resident Rewards and our residents stepping up to the plate has been no exception. Josefina O. from Sycamore Family Apartments has experienced a year of compounding personal challenges battling stage 3 cancer, and yet did not let that stop her from sharing her heart of gold with others. If neighbors were in need of a ride to the store for groceries, she was the first to volunteer herself as a driver. She also handmade tamales and treats around Christmas time to pass around for free to fellow residents who weren't able to be around loved ones for the holidays. Josefina was even willing to provide financially for a neighbor in need who was struggling to make rent after a devastating job lay off, all without expecting a recognition or any favors in return. She is a pillar of goodness and resilience in her community, and all those who've come to know her are blessed by her incredible character. The Resident Rewards Program is honored to award Josefina O. the recognition of "2022 Resident of the Year." Congratulations!

En más de un sentido, el año 2022 ha sido el mejor año para nuestro Programa de Recompensas, y nuestros residentes no se han quedado atrás de la manera como participaron en sus comunidades. Josefina O. de Sycamore Family Apartments ha experimentado un año de desafíos personales muy complejos, luchando contra el cáncer en etapa 3; y sin embargo, no permitió que eso le impidiera compartir su corazón de oro con los demás. Si los vecinos necesitaban ayuda para ir a la tienda a comprar comestibles, ella era la primera en ofrecerse como conductora. También hizo tamales y golosinas hechas a mano en Navidad para repartir gratis a otros residentes que no pudieron estar cerca de sus seres queridos durante los días festivos. Josefina incluso proveyó ayuda financiera para un vecino que estaba en necesidad de pagar el alquiler después que perdió su trabajo repentinamente, y todo sin esperar un reconocimiento o favor a cambio. Ella es un pilar de bondad y resiliencia en su comunidad, y todos aquellos que han llegado a conocerla son bendecidos por su increíble carácter.
